STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS IN DRESSAGE & SHOWJUMPING

SUNDAY APRIL 27TH 2008

BEST OVERALL NOVICE HORSE                                                             

Run over the 3 months – April, May and June – for riders of novice horses only. 

Tests in April and May will be walk-trot tests; the June test will be HRCAV 5C

Novice horses will not have achieved a placing, greater than 4th place, in a previous dressage competition.

This series is offered to help horses and riders gain more dressage experience and

to receive advice from the judge, in regard to your progress in dressage.

Sashes will be presented to 6th place  (price $10 per test - $30 for the series). 

These tests do not form any part of the State Championship in Dressage or the

Champagne Dressage Series. 

Riders in those competitions may ride these tests, as warm-up tests, provided fees are paid.

                                      Tests – Preliminary 1.3 & Novice 2.4  [EFA Book, 2004 Edition].

Pre-entry only  $15.00 per test or (see reduced fees on reverse of this sheet).

Placings to sixth.  Sash & rosette, trophy and embroidered rug for State Champions in Sections 1 & 2

Proof of minimum 25% Standardbred bloodlines required for partbred Standardbred horses

State Champion will be the horse that gains the most (combined) points for the 2 tests.

(NOTE:  rugs will only be presented if 6 horses are registered to contest the individual Championship)

A SHORT PERIOD OF FREE JUMPING        1'6"  -  2'  -  2'6"           will be available prior competition

 

COMPETITION SHOWJUMPING    two-phase competition round (opens at 2’6”)

Open to both Purebred and Partbred Standardbreds                              

Pre-entry only  $15.00.

  COMBINED TRAINING    A Champion Combined Training sash will be awarded.  All competitors who enter the Preliminary 1.3 dressage and the competition showjumping, will be eligible for the Combined Training award.  Fees for showjumping and dressage championships cover eligibility for this award.

 

HIGH JUMP JUMP-OFF    A sash will be offered to the winner of a jump-off, for the highest jump of the day.  Jumping will commence at 2’6”.  Showjumping fees cover eligibility for this award.

 

ALL   dressage tests will be conducted under EFA Rules, including gear checks.  Test callers allowed.

 

Under the terms of our insurance policy, all riders are to wear approved helmets/hard hats and

appropriate riding boots.    Snaffle bits only allowed.   Riders 18 years must abide by Pony Club regulations.

 

A horse may be entered in two or more separate events by different riders, but may not compete in the same event ridden by more than one rider.  Note:  plaiting is optional.

 

NOTE:     A French Toast breakfast and light lunch as well as bottomless tea, coffee and cordial, will be provided at a cost of $5.00 per person per month.  Children under 8 years free.  Bookings are essential to ensure sufficient food is provided.

CHAMPAGNE DRESSAGE SERIES

SUNDAYS 27 APRIL, 18 MAY and 15 JUNE 2008

The Champagne Dressage Series named after Champagne King, the first horse registered with the SPPHAV, was the winner of the first 2 SPPHAV State Championships in Dressage in 1995 and 1996.  The series is sponsored by Muzzagne Park Standardbred Stud with entry fees received by the SPPHAV.

 

The Champagne Dressage Series, with sections for both Purebred and Partbred Standardbred horses, is held over 3 months, April (an additional section of the SPPHAV’s State Championships in Dressage), May and June. 

 

The Series consists of 6 dressage tests – 2 each month for both Purebred and Partbred horses – with the results of 1 test, each month, carrying forward towards the major awards for the Series.  Note: to contest for the Series, participants are required to ride both tests each month. This year’s tests are:

Awards presented over the 3 months include:

 

v      Placement sashes – to 6th place – for each test, each month.

v      Day Champion and Day Reserve Champion sashes – determined by the combined test scores for the day – May & June.  April Champions & Reserve Champions will have been sashed as State Champions and Reserve State Champions.

v      Trophy for Day Champions – May & June.

v      Best Overall Novice sash and trophy  – presented to the Novice horse with the best overall scores from the Walk Trot tests  (April and May) and the HRCAV 5C test (June).  Novice horses are not to have gained a placing higher than 4th place in a previous SPPHAV dressage competition

v      Tri-coloured neck sash and rosette and an engraved, pewter champagne flute for the Series winners – both Purebred and Partbred sections.

v      Winners of both the Purebred and Partbred sections will have their names engraved on the Champagne Dressage Series Perpetual Trophy Board.

 

FEES:  The cost for entering the Champagne Dressage Series is $90.00 – $15.00 per test.

 

REDUCED FEES:  Members who enter and prepay, by 10th April 2008, may do so at a reduced payment of $70.00 for all 6 tests.  This reduced fee covers the State Championships in Dressage and the Champagne Dressage Series.  Copies of all tests will be provided on receipt of entry form and payment of entry fees.

 

Further Best Overall Novice tests, are offered in May and June.  They are performed before the Day Championship tests and carry a fee of $10.00 each.  They are not part of the reduced fee payment offer.  Placement sashes, to 6th place, will be awarded to horses and riders performing these tests.  Copies of tests will be provided on receipt of entry form and payment of entry fees.

 

IMPORTANT:  a horse can not have a change of rider during the Series or Novice competition.
