Shows & Events

The SPPHAV offers competitions and breed classes at agricultural and open shows throughout Victoria for pure and partbred Standardbreds.

As at 27th September 2007 the EFA advised that HRCAV and Pony Clubs are discouraging any Horse Events/competitions.

The EFA will assist any group that wishes to go ahead with their show/event but those groups will have to adhere to very stringent rules to do so.  These rules will be available from the EFA.

Harness Racing Victoria (HRV) sponsor the annual HRV Perpetual Trophy. Performances at HRV shows acquire points which go towards this trophy. HRV shows are highlighted in bold and marked with a (HRV) in the calendar below.

The committee will discuss the implications of these cancellations on our High Point Competition and the Standardbred national High Point competition and will advise of what is decided.

Please note that some of the below dates have not been confirmed with the relevant show committees.  It is wise to call the shows you plan to attend to: (i) check the date and starting time of the ring and (ii) ask for a copy of the show program to be posted to you so you can pre-enter - often at a slightly cheaper price per class ticket. For your convenience we have listed contact telephone numbers in the show calendar below.

The SPPHAV also offers an Annual Endurance Award for accumulated distance points in Victorian endurance rides. (Click the above link for more details about this award).

The show/event/endurance calendar year begins on July 1 and ends on June 30.
